Is this remotely plausible, or am I reaching?

Say Lizzy was offered Goon and Werewolf. Hermy was offered... Goon and Framer? She took Framer, Lizzy took Goon because she didn't want to be alone (she has definitely said she doesn't like being alone before). They decide to switch discards because Hermy wishes she'd been offered Werewolf and thinks discarding it will make her look good.
