I've never played with Eyelash before, ofc; but those posts are clearly Sketch Central.

So, we are waiting to hear from Rosey, Alleen and Keyen when they wake up. Katie probably won't post much on the first day, regardless of alignment. No sense even trying to read her until Day 2. She's built quite a nice little niche for herself with that habit, but I don't actually mind since she usually contributes so much to end games.
Rosey will probably ask everyone what they think after she asks what Trump time it is. She might be in a mood to paint the town red, or dance, or eat muffins. She could treat us to some Shakespearean reference. I'm rather hoping for one of her litmus tests as they can be useful.
Alleen will probably vote for someone. Like Skelda, she likes early votes. My guess is maybe Kitty.
What will Keyen do? Will he post a Nicki gif?

I think no whacking is an awful idea. I'm not sure if I find Eyelash and Jake suspicious for suggesting it or not. I guess a little, but I know I've disagreed with both of them about this in the past so maybe not.
But I do think pushing for No whack is an easy thing to do as Mafia.
With odd numbers, no whacking is literally throwing a whack away that we otherwise would have. There aren't any protective roles so all we do by no whacking is lose a whack. I guess we avoid accidentally targeting the PRs before they have results which is good, but like, that's always going to be a problem if there's a PR who's acting suspicious.

Funny how we don't get bored of repeating ourselves countless times in all these games over the years.

I think whacking is the correct play. There are three Mafia in this setup, that isn't terrible odds even on Day 1.

The simple preference over no whackes is one i dont much like to base a red from. Not right away anyway. It might prove somewhat useful later on but right now its simply just a preference i think, unregarded to alignment. Skelda's post right there, i mean, we all know he defos doesnt like no whackes so it really is no surprise and tells me nothing.
Also i was joking about skelda being sketchy. If that statement had even a hint of truth to it--like me joking becayse last game i did the same, but then theres a part of me that sort of actually believes he might be bad-- i wouldnt bother saying this. But i dont suspect him. Yet.

I don't know about Jake, but I would say Eyelash's no whack is townish, if not neutral. I've discussed whack vs. no whack with him before, he prefers no whack in most cases.

Do you think he wouldn't push it as scum? I don't think it's Townish any more than me advocating for a whack is Townish

Skelda, I kind of feel like Jake recommending a no whack is less sketchy than the way Eyelash did it. For one thing, it would be easy for Eyelash to hop onto the idea and less bold than broaching it so flatly and in a vacuum the way Jake did. More than that, it was the WAY he said it, like Em pointed out, throwing in an unsolicited reference to his innocence. His responsive post to Em when she called him on it didn't hold much water for me, either. That was a decent litmus test, Emzer.
However, when you said that both Jake and Eyelash have preferred no-whackes in the past and have that history of touting them does lead me to read less into it than I initially did.
I suppose it's possible that they are bad together, but that would be pretty obvious. Other than making note of it, I'm going to leave the whole thing alone for now because I just don't know enough about either of them to gauge how scummy that might be. No whackes aren't always the worst idea, it's just that it seems odd to bring them up so very soon at the beginning of Day One before we've even had a chance to attempt some reads.
Why did you choose to vote for Jake instead of Eyelash, Skelda?
