Water Ice is a dessert in the Greater Philadelphia area that is thicker than a slushy but thinner than a snow cone. Its NOT the same thing as Italian ice. ^^Taken from internet. Because I had no clue what a water ice was.  Down here, this is the only Italian Ice I've ever seen. It's at the grocery store. I googled, and there were a whole bunch of northern companies that made water ice ... some Italian water ice, some Polish water ice. One was in Detroit. So I think it's just more common up there than down here? Because this is not a common thing in the Carolinas. We do have Pelican's Snow Cones, which I highly recommend in the warmer months. They have little stores that are only open in warm months. |

We have nothing cool here, but it seems almost uniform for everyone to dress like a cowboy, it's hard to tell what's a costume or not during Halloween. The school even says "The home of Cowboys and Cowgirls". It's really irritating  |

You are correct Lala. But people in North Jersey are stupid people and call it Italian ice. I have that in the store too, I would call it water ice though even though it isn't exactly. Water ice is like what you'd get at Rita's, which I'm pretty sure changed its name to Rita's Italian Ice in the North to cater to stupid people. Polish Water Ice is a thing down the shore too, though I prefer regular water ice personally. Polish Water Ice is more creamy.
Water ice is not a slushy, it is more firm than a slushy and it is scooped like ice cream. Also I think it comes in more varied flavors than I've seen with slushies.

Pelican's has 100+ flavors available. That doesn't include mixing two different flavors to make a new one! Yummy. I get pink grapefruit with something else a lot.  |
