If survivor, whacker, and jester can win with any faction, why are they even called 3rd party if they can't win with only themselves?

Yes, I said I did so because I felt if I had the 2-shot-vig, I would more disadvantage the town than give it an advantage, because my reads tend to be off, so I decided to go with something else instead. I think the good strategy for you is to determine the majority people who thinks this person is scum. What do you mean? |

Every town wincon explicitly states to whackinate all the threats, soooooo.. Survivor, whacker, and jester (all thirds) are NOT threats. There are likely other third parties that are not threats as well. You know this. sooooo.... We should be looking for scum today, not third. If we kill a third that is a threat awesome! If mafia kills third at night -- then super! It won't hurt us. |

Jester wins if they are whacked, which town should avoid. whacker wins if they whacked someonbe, which town should avoid. Survivor wins if they survived, which town should avoid. It's majority against me, so i'll lose this argument. |

Why is a survivor or a jester dangerous to town?
Survivor just needs to make it to the end, can't hurt anyone
Jester just needs to die, can't hurt anyone

If survivor couldn't win with any faction, the only way they could ever win is if mafia won and didn't kill them the final night. If I worked it out correctly, they would never be able to win with town as town would then have to kill the survivor in order to win. So survivor has to be able to win with both otherwise chances of them ever winning are really slim. That's just the reason that makes sense to me for survivor, I'm sure the others have reasons as well. Also, I think when we first started playing with jester years ago we were going to let jester being whacked end the game. But then it made the game short and people wanted to play out the mafia/town win so we let the game carry on after jester was whacked. Something like that if I remember correctly |

Not according to the wiki as you linked. But Jester and whacker ONLY wins with themselves, not with town or scum. Third Party is an independent faction that has a different wincon to town or scum. Why are they called third parties if they can win with scum and win with town? |
