If Tip is town, then this concerns me a little. Because Tip decides to take a power role instead of a vanilla role and if she isn't mafia, the mafia will likely kill her first because of her being the only known power role at that time. If there is a doctor, can we have them protect Tip?

Varies when it's between vanilla town and scum of some sort - but that's beside the point. So everyone or at least nearly everyone will have a PR. So this is not an issue.

Let me rephrase the last line - nearly no one is going to be vanilla town.
It makes more sense put like that.

And one of the reasons I tossed out my town mason role was because I have been a werewolf mason ... and I have been in a game that I was not a mason that had a werewolf mason with a town mason...and I would be unable to trust my mason partner in this game because I would know that there was a chance that they were indeed a werewolf and not a townsperson. And I'm glad because this game DID have a werewolf mason. Of course, that player discarded their role. And then Caro Lover Mason discarded her role, so that would have really been awful to be a mason all by yourself. Yeah I was werewolf mason once before and tried to convince Skelda that I was just a town mason. So I was kinda concerned that this could happen here. On the other hand I thought there just might be no other mason and I would be alone and useless. Also the lover part didn't seem appealing.

Everyone can be assumed to have a power role. Some people may just not like their power role and decides to take a vanilla role instead. I don't think a single person here qould just spontaneously choose vanilla town over a town PR. Unless it was miller or something. That just doesn't happen.

And, yes, I can not be relaxed as Mason in this type of game.
